warmed up the crowd ready for auctioneer Nick Borst who sold everything not nailed down including his own braces.

CENTRAL also enjoyed a successful event at Drayton Manor Golf Club in Abingdon where the famous tradition of hospitality and friendliness made all 130 guests feel welcome. Stan Boardman, an ever popular entertainer at Lighthouse events had the crowd howling with laughter and everyone was extremely generous when it came to buying raffe tickets. At the end of the day the branch had made a good proft for the Benevolent Fund.

Finally LONDON branch welcomed 560 guests to their Luncheon at the Intercontinental Park Lane. The high tech city dwellers used a state of the art IPad Registration Programme signing up new members instantly and collecting follow up information.

Event sponsors Gallagher Group, TLICN, Ardent Tide, L Lynch and M O’Brien were invited to join Chairman John Griffn for a VIP champagne reception before lunch

was called. By the time the piper led the baron of beef into the dining room, the day was in full fow. Special praise was given to Lyndsey Gallagher for her outstanding efforts in raising money for the 2012 London Marathon and Matthew Loddy who is running a staggering 100 marathons in 100 days for the Club.

The iPads came back into play for the Silent Auction allowing guests to bid for tickets to the Brit Awards, the Jingle Bell Ball, exclusive flm preview tickets and even a Christmas break. The not so silent live auction with the much acclaimed Scott Charlton at the helm saw guests dig deep and raise staggering amounts for the club. As a reward for their generosity guests were later entertained the fabulous Stewart Francis. A Guinness Bar was the perfect end to a great day which raised in excess of £50,000.

Many, many thanks to everyone who supported these and all our other events, events by organising, attending or donating cash and/or prizes. Your efforts are sincerely appreciated!
