EUROPE - Komatsu add another Dash-8 to sub 20 t range of tracked excavators
Investing in operator safety
The PC160LC-8 features a roll-over protection cab, specifically developed by Komatsu for hydraulic excavators. The cab is the result of an investment of over €1 million of test this life saving feature and to make sure that the cab’s integrated tubular steel skeleton offers exceptional protection to the operator in the event of a machine roll over.
To further increase the safety of persons around the working excavator, the PC160LC-8 is also fully equipped as standard with a travel alarm, anti-slip steps and a rear canopy mounted camera giving the operator a clear view of the rear work zone on the wide-screen monitor panel. Large mirrors on both sides ensure that machine visibility meets the latest ISO standards.
Machine and management system
Komatsu fit as standard many features that used to be an option - and the PC160LC-8 is no exception. Plant theft, track and remote diagnostic and management are becoming more and more important as plant owners recognise the benefits that such technology can deliver.
Machine data, including working time, workload and fuel consumption, is easily accessible over the Internet. Owners or fleet managers are informed of the machine’s operational status, without having to attend the site in person. KOMTRAX can be configured to send an email to a designated person, for instance when the machine shows a caution alert or if it is activated outside an engine lock period.
For greater versatility, and customizing, there are various options that can be specified pre-delivery such as factory installed diesel particulate filter, automatic greasing system and additional working lamps.
Specifications are for guidance only and subject to change.
Solving rust and corrosion problems in industrial weighing
It is not often that Contractors World can write about new products from New Zealand. Normally, editorial pages are dominated by Europe, Asia and America. However, the New Zealand company, PT Ltd. has developed a simple, but sophisticated measuring device - without the risk of rust or corrosion.
The Accupoint weighing module is built into a tough stainless steel body, hermetically sealed to a true IP68 ingress rating. This eliminates past problems with using weighing equipment in a hostile environments,
Highly accurate and extremely simple and easy to install the weigh module is the perfect solution for vessel / tank / hopper weighing in any critical environments. It is self centring and minimizes external forces due to thermal effects with no loss of performance or accuracy. It incorporates a very high level of protection for the load cells to maintain performance specifications and reduces chances of load cell damage and plant downtime.
Accupoint Weigh Module is available with 100 kg to 50 t capacities. Every load cell has individual serialized calibration certificates and a 3 year Warranty. PT has manufactured load cells for over 27 years and exports to over 200 countries.
