The construction industry gears up for
Conexpo/ConAgg 2011

It is only January but companies are already heavily promoting the participation in this year's premier event for the construction industry - CONEXPO/CONAGG - which takes place in Las Vegas from March 22 through to 26.

With the current economic situation affecting most parts of the world, there is understandably some concerns over the attendance at the show. However, the organisers have told Contractors World that they will have some 2,000 exhibitors spread across more than 200,000 m². They have also said that they expect to exceed 120,000 visitors.

Crowds jam the aisles at CONEXPO 2008 and attendance for 2011 is expected to be higher.    It will be interesting to see what manufacturers are doing to meet the market requirements. Contractors World predicts higher use of technology to bring greater interaction of machines with the project planning. There will also be more automatic features on new machines. There may also be announcements on further ‘partner’ arrangements between companies as they try to reduce manufacturing costs while maintaining brand awareness and customer loyalty.

Crowds jam the aisles at CONEXPO 2008 and attendance for 2011 is expected to be higher.

In this and the next issue, Contractors World will be taking a look at what companies have already said will be on show and, of course, we will be at the event, reporting directly on the latest innovations, technology and industry news.
