New Holland lends a hand at removing volcanic ash Argentina
New Holland lends a hand at removing volcanic ash

The Argentinian National Park’s Administration is using the front-end loader and the motor grader assigned by New Holland in order to return the splendour of the Nahuel Huapi National Park, following devastation from tonnes of volcanic ash

The equipment assigned to the National Parks Administration (NPA) was delivered to work on the volcanic ash removal in the surroundings of Villa La Angostura, province of Neuquen, with the aim of repairing the damages caused by the eruption of the Peyehue volcano in the area of the Nahuel Huapi.

A New Holland 12C wheel loader and a New Holland RG200.B motor grader are part of the New Holland Corporate Social Responsibility program, aiming at collaborating with the NPA to perform the tasks to recover the affected national park.

After attending a training course, the operators of the Nahuel Huapi National Park carried out the first task in the farm of a livestock producer, who had to part with all his animals after his grassland was covered with a 20 cm thick layer of volcanic ash and sand.

New Holland RG200.B motor grader are part of the New Holland Corporate Social Responsibility program, aiming at collaborating with the NPA to perform the tasks to recover the affected national park.   Alexander Jonov, New Holland Construction Commercial Manager, said “Our brand has 15 years of tradition in Argentina and, due to our commitment with the country, we want to contribute to recover one of the most emblematic touristic areas of the Patagonia.

We are proud of being able to give this equipment to the National Parks Administration, so that Villa La Angostura can show, as quickly as possible, its characteristic splendour, appreciated by tourists from all over the world.”

Ricardo Rua, Chief of the Park Rangers in the Northern area of the Nahuel Huapi National Park, with the main office in Villa La Angostura, said “Our mission is to be the hosts to all the visitors and, for that reason, we are taking care of the town and the national park to welcome the tourists back. For us, this type of contribution, comprising the machinery appropriate for the removal of such huge volume of material, is invaluable.”
