Specifcatons are for guidance only and are subject to change according to confguraton and manufacturing changes.

All models feature a ‘nested’ boom that allows the luffing insert jib to be stored in the middle boom. For faster assembly, boom connect pins can be stored in a special ‘pin holder’ to prevent losses during assembly, disassembly and in transport.

The base now features a folding axle extension adaptor in place of the old system in which the extensions had to be removed and shipped separately. Guy cable stowing brackets can now be securely fastened by insertng them in the boom for correct positoning during transport.

Jos Verhulst, Sales and Marketng Manager of Kobelco Cranes Europe, says “Kobelco has always been at the forefront of crawler crane development, and these new models are a signifcant advance in that technology, bringing the combined benefts of environmental sensitvity and efcient operaton for a wide variety of lifing jobs. These cranes represent a key element in our strategy to meet eco- and environmental concerns and demands of the antcipated recovery in the global constructon, infrastructure and industrial market. With the development of the new G-Series KOBELCO has made an important contributon to preserving our planet for future generatons.

Market differentials

As with all large constructon equipment, there are mandatory regulatons in place that vary from country to country. Many countries have adopted the stringent emission and safety features demanded by the European community for equipment working in the European Union and/or the US regulator for equipment working in the USA.

While such requirements have their advantages they do also impose some restrictons. The latest engines, namely engines in conformity with NRMM EUR Stage IIIB and US EPA Interim Tier 4, such as those in the new Kobelco G-Series, require low-sulphur Diesel fuel, which is the standard normally available fuel in Europe and USA.

Using high-sulphur Diesel fuel, can result in serious and, ultmately expensive, damage to the engine. High-sulphur Diesel is the standard normal available fuel in several countries, especially in Africa, and several other regions outside Europe and North America.

For those parts of the world where the necessary quality of fuel is not available, Contractors World understands that, as early as November 2011, Kobelco will be introducing the new CKS- Series (without CE) which are equipped with other diesel engines which have no problem with fuel with high sulphur.

KOBELCO confrms the new CKS-models will be equipped with an appropriate engine for high-sulphur diesel and will also be equipped with KOBELCO G-mode with 3 Energy Saving Systems, which is also standard available on the KOBELCO CKE-G-Series. By using the 3 Energy Saving Systems of G-mode up to 25% reducton in fuel consumpton can be achieved with the new CKS-models.
