JCB Present their Intermat

innovations at a special event in La Manga, Spain

At a special event in La Manga, Spain where it was unseasonably cold and wet, JCB presented to trade press editors from across Europe, their new products to be shown at Intermat. However, as with many companies, JCB will undoubtedly be holding something back for a special show-tme reveal.

The event started with presentatons by various JCB representatves. The frst being Alan Blake, CEO of JCB (lef) who said that despite of the economic conditons, the group as a whole had seen growth of 18% over the previous year, and sent out a positve outlook for the future with massive investments in plant and facilites.

These include a new $100 million purpose-built factory in Brazil to manufacture backhoe loaders and large excavators. In recent years, the company’s investments have included the $63 million JCB Heavy Products factory in Utoxeter, UK; the new $11 million JCB Atachments factory also in Utoxeter and the $57 million extension to its Backhoe Loader plant in New Delhi, India, which is now the largest backhoe loader factory anywhere in the world; $40 million new skidsteer facility in the USA.

The company, which has been recognised with the prestgious Queen’s Award for Technology and Export Achievement in the UK, no fewer than 26 tmes, has also increased market share for backhoe loaders and telescopic handlers up to
