he LR 1300 is being deployed at the Nabha Thermal r Plant jobsite to complete the structural work of the and to install other heavy equipment. The crawler e is currently being used to lif steel beams weighing ween 4 and 58 tonnes to heights of 100 to 110 m. vier lifs are planned for the crane at a later stage of construction process. The crane works in two shifts day with one shif lastng an average of 10 hours. he LR 1300 is powered by a 450 kW six cylinder diesel ine. The robust steel structure of the uppercarriage vides ideal conditons for the heaviest applicatons. For transportng to and from site, the LR 1300 uses a y straightorward, technically advanced self-assembly d self-loading system. Four telescopic support jacks on undercarriage, an assembly cylinder in the A-frame unloading and two counterweight hoistng cylinders the rear of the basic machine mean that a second ane is not needed either to unload the crane or to ect it.

1300 crawler crane

part of the Transmontana Highway, which will soon link the city of Oporto to the Spanish border.

The Corgo Viaduct, with a length of 2,795 meters, a height from the botom of the valley of 230 meters, and a main span of 300 meters, will run over three roads and one railway line. Pillars number 18 and 19, the highest of the whole structure, are being built by two Linden Comansa Flat-Top tower cranes, model 21 LC 400, with maximum load capacity of 18 tons, and erected with jib lengths of 70 meters, allowing them to load up to 5,000 kilos at the jib-end.

The cranes will soon reach a height of 207 meters. The jacking-up of the cranes from the inital height (69.2 m) has been performed by Ibergru, using a hydraulic cage J4-1 in three phases (up to 101 m, 132 m and 168 m ) and, in a few weeks, the last jacking-up will be carried out to reach its fnal height of 207 meters (679 f).

In order to ensure the stability of the cranes at such height, each one has four tes to the pillar, at heights of 50, 81, 113 and 156 meters respectvely and with a length from the crane’s mast to the viaduct’s pillar of up to 10 meters.
