Site Equipment - What’s New
The four-cylinder Cat M313D and M315D wheeled excavators benefited from recent engineering updates with refinement to the operator’s station and undercarriage, along with new technical features and fleet-management systems. A welded undercarriage now allows a blade to be used either front or rear, with or without outriggers at the non-blade end. Or, the machines can be fitted with outriggers front and rear. This versatility allows customers to tailor machine configuration to typical applications. The in-cab monitor has been changed to the same as that used in Cat six-cylinder wheeled excavators. For the operator’s convenience, the new monitor has a 40% larger display area and greater resolution. The software used is specific to wheeled excavators, and the monitor allows managing the standard rear-view camera via quick-access buttons, as well as managing two optional cameras. The attachment quick coupler is also controlled from the monitor, and an audible signal informs the operator that the coupler is open. The coupler is controlled with a new valve that provides the same operating sequence as that for 300D/E tracked machines. The travel-lock function is now accessible through a quick-access button on the monitor and is standard on all cabs. Seat refinement includes a lumbar-support feature for the mechanically suspended seat, and a new low-frequency, air-suspended Comfort seat that features lumbar support, lockable horizontal suspension, mechanical height adjustment and passive climate control. Geith, a leader in the design and manufacture of couplers and attachment products for excavators, has launched a new pallet fork attachment for wheeled and tracked excavators from 8 to 21 tonne. The pallet fork attachment increases the versatility of wheeled and tracked excavators on construction sites by enabling them to pick up and handle pallets. This can be an important advantage on sites that are inaccessible to telescopic handlers or where excavators are under utilized. Moreover, the 360° rotation of the excavator provides a larger working envelope for the pallet fork compared to a telescopic handler. The pallet fork attachment can be mounted via a coupler or directly on to the excavator. It features tines which can be moved across the length of the rack. Locking pins prevent the tines from moving once in place on the rack, and they can be easily removed through the centre of the bottom rack. The high quality tines have a safety factor of 3:1 and the mounting frame uses gussets and a box section design for additional strength. Click here for more information >>> Geith Attachments |
