Site Equipment - What’s New

A new, larger and more powerful CSD650 joins the Damen Standard series of cutter suction dredgers

The dredger works at maximum depth of 18 m, using its Damen dredge pump type BP6560MD which has a mixture capacity of 7.000 m³/h. New larger Cutter Suction Dredger

A new, larger and more powerful CSD650 joins the Damen Standard series of cutter suction dredgers. The addition to the range results from a demand in the market and the continuous innovation of Damen Dredging Equipment. The CSD650 is past its drawing table stage and is now under construction.

The new vessel is based on the standard range which offers a simple, robust and modular design. The design principle of the latest model is for a high cutter power combined with a large swing width for maximum efficiency. All engines are Caterpillar. Total installed power is 2.969 kW which is sufficient for all functions operating simultaneously.

The dredger works at maximum depth of 18 m, using its Damen dredge pump type BP6560MD which has a mixture capacity of 7.000 m³/h. The powerful hydraulically driven cutter has 600 kW installed, which, when combined with the 62.8 m swing width provides for an extremely efficient dredging tool.

It is designed for coastal area operations and equipped as a standard with anchor booms for autonomous operation and a spud carriage installation for optimal efficiency.

The various elements such as side pontoons and main pontoon can all be shipped by road or sea. All steel plating of the pontoons is beyond Class requirements. The on board dredge piping is of a 650 mm internal diameter.

The CSD650 can be customized, which makes it flexible in use. For instance a submerged dredge pump unit is ready to expand the dredging depth to 22 m. Moreover an air conditioned crew day-accommodation unit is available, plus other options such as deck cranes, a stern swivel, production measurement and positioning software.

New RS844 RollerscreedNew RS844 Rollerscreed

For over 20 years, Allen has led the industry in spinning tube paving equipment. The RS844, the first of the new series, is a ride-on steerable roller screed powered by a 44 HP (32.60 kW) Kubota turbo diesel.

This makes it the most powerful roller screed on the market, according to Allen Engineering who also say that the 8” (203 mm) diameter paving tube provides 25% more surface contact to the concrete than other roller screeds which in turns provides for a smoother concrete pavement. It is available in widths of 14’ (4.27 m) to 34’ (10.36 m) with working widths of 12’ (3.66 m)to 32’ (9.75 m).

Features includes four lights located on the front and back of machine; adjustable seat and arm rests and optional powered spray system for retardant application
