Site Equipment - What's New

Intermat 2012

Case 621F wheel loader

Case Construction Equipment celebrated 170 years of innovative engineering excellenceCase demonstrated emission leadership

Case Construction Equipment celebrated 170 years of innovative engineering excellence at the Intermat exhibition in April. Central to a host of new machine introductions was the continued investment in Tier 4 Interim emissions standards solutions. This has resulted in the adoption of Tier 4 Interim engines across 90% of models, maintaining the company’s position at the forefront of efficient, productive machine design.

C Series Expansion

There was six of the latest C Series crawler excavators on the stand, each powered by new low emission Tier 4 Interim engines offering increased efficiency and fuel savings benefits. Through the use of the Case Intelligent Hydraulic System (CIHS), incorporating five electronically managed energy saving systems, models including the CX160C and CX210C boast an additional 10% fuel saving over B Series excavators.

There were additions to the short radius line-up too, with the CX145C SR and the CX235C SR boasting an even more impressive 17.5% fuel saving over competitive products. The combination of Tier 4 Interim engines and the Case Intelligent Hydraulic System deliver a 7% reduction in cycle times and a 15% increase in lifting capacity.

Higher up the range, the CX300C NLC model on show, demonstrating the compact transport dimensions of this narrow track model. Most of all, visitors were drawn to the largest model on show, the Case CX470C ME. This Mass Excavation machine features a 5% increase in fuel efficiency, along with 5% faster cycle times and a 6% increase in lift capacity.

Faster, More Productive And Fuel Efficient Wheeled Loaders

Building upon the successful introduction of the F Series wheeled loader range last year, Case demonstrated the 821F along with the 721F with Z-bar loader linkage. Equipped with frugal Tier 4 Interim engines, these loaders use selective catalytic reduction (SCR) with AdBlue, to achieve up to 15% lower fuel consumption versus the previous series. This in-house technology was successfully introduced in 2004 in the truck business to reduce fuel costs and emissions levels.

These loaders were equipped with open axles with a 100% differential lock on the front, to increase traction and boosts productivity. With longer maintenance intervals both owners and technicians will appreciate 1,500 hour changing of coolant, axle oil and transmission oil, while tyre wear is dramatically reduced thanks to the open differentials.
