All-Terrain Electric Tug Range Makes
It Easy In Difficult Yard Environments
MasterMover has launched a new all-terrain range that enables companies to push or tow
heavy loads in even the most demanding of environments.
The ATT400 All Terrain Tug and the ATP400 All Terrain Push feature
patent-applied technology that has been FEA tested and CE marked.
Both models have been designed for use in all environments
including foundries, brick kilns and other factory environments
including pulling/pushing skips in workshops and hard-standing
plant yards that are subject to uneven surfaces. A single chassis
can perform towing or pushing functions depending on the
attachment used to connect it to the load.
As Andy Owen, the company’s Managing Director, explains, “The principle of MasterMover technology is to
generate traction and reduce rolling resistance. This is more challenging in factories where there is a substantial
amount of dirt or debris, or where items such as rails protrude from the floor, so we have developed our innovative
new technology to overcome these obstacles.”
The main body marks a significant redesign on conventional tug manufacture in order to optimise performance.
The in-house development team has moved the main wheel forward for better traction, and integrated a new
supporting wheel at the back. The latter maintains a safe, consistent level for the operator by moving up and down
in relation to the uneven floor, minimising the effort required to hold up the tug.
The AC motor is contained within a sealed unit to prevent ingress from dust, while its gearless, direct drive
construction reduces the number of working parts for greater efficiency and lower maintenance. At the same
time, the main tyres are specified in a cross-ply radial construction that delivers a hard-wearing, puncture-proof
foundation for both models.

What’s New in Plant & Equipment
Bobcat Launches E25
2.5 tonne Compact Excavator
Equipped with cab and standard bucket, the new E25 reduced
tail swing (RTS) compact excavator has an operating weight of
2.571 kg.
The weight distribution in the E25 excavator eliminates
any additional counterweight. This enhances the stability
and ensures that it an be transported by trailer more easily
(maximum towable weight, including trailer: 3.5 tonnes).
Part of the E-Series of Bobcat compact excavators
introduced over the last three years, the new 2.5 tonne
model offers all the advantages common to the E-Series,
namely superior hydraulic performance, smooth and precise workgroup operation, exceptional
operator comfort and high reliability.
The control panel in the E25 model is similar to that used across the E-Series and includes a clear display
showing engine RPM and working hours; an automatic system to switch off the work lights after 10 minutes when
the key is not in the ignition, preventing the battery from going flat and a fuel-filling interval bleep which indicates
the level as the tank is being filled.
