What's New In Plant & Equipment

Komatsu Goes Crazy With New Equipment Launches

Komatsu Goes Crazy With New Equipment Launches

Since the last issue of Contractors World, Komatsu has introduced new products to the articulated dump truck range, excavators, dozers and more.

HM300-5 articulated dump truck brochure

HM300-5 articulated dump truck Exhibited earlier this year at ConExpo, the HM300 Tier 4 Final is now available to customers in North America.

Featuring a net 324 HP (242 kW), the HM300-5 is powered by a Komatsu SAA6D125E-7 engine that is EPA Tier 4 Final emissions certified.

With a 30.9 US ton (28 metric ton) payload and a gross vehicle weight (GVW) of 117,892 lbs. (53,475 kg), the HM300-5 maintains the productivity and performance of the previous model, but offers improved fuel efficiency to deliver what customers have come to expect from Komatsu articulated dump trucks.

The Komatsu Tier 4 Final engine uses an advanced electronic control system. The result is lower fuel consumption with no loss of performance. High Productivity

Through body design optimization, the model has increased body capacity and payload. The low 9’2” (2820mm) loading height easily matches with 30-ton to 60-ton hydraulic excavators or 5 yd³ to 7.5 yd³ wheel loaders.

The Komatsu Tier 4 Final engine uses an advanced electronic control system. The result is lower fuel consumption with no loss of performance.

Additionally, the two single-staged body lift cylinders provide a 70-degee dump angle. Selectable working modes allow the operator to choose between Economy and Power modes to tailor machine performance to the application or work conditions.

Komatsu Traction Control System (K-TCS) automatically provides optimum traction when operating in soft ground conditions.

An integrated Payload Meter (PLM) is now standard on the HM300-5. The PLM displays the loaded material weight on the 7” high-resolution LCD monitor for the truck operator as well as indicates payload information to the loader operator via external display lamps. PLM data is also transferred via KOMTRAX and can be accessed by web.

Tier 4 Final Emission Certified Engine

The Komatsu Tier 4 Final engine uses an advanced electronic control system. The result is lower fuel consumption with no loss of performance.

HM300-5 cab      Komatsu continues to use a Komatsu Variable Geometry Turbocharger (KVGT) and an Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve for more precise temperature and air management control as well as longer component life.

The large cab provides a comfortable and quiet work environment. The ROPS/FOPS Level-2 certified cab has a newly designed rounded front dash panel with easy to reach switches. The center mounted high back, heated air ride seat with 3-point seat belt provides the operator with excellent visibility during operation.

A high resolution 7” LCD monitor offers enhanced capabilities and displays information in 25 languages for global support.
