Transmin switches to

Atlas Copco breakers

Bulk materials handling specialist Transmin

in Perth, Australia, has switched to Atlas Copco

for the supply of all hydraulic breakers used in

their hydraulic breaker range. Transmin sourc-

es all breakers via Breakers & Attachments

Equipment Group (BA Equipment), who joined

Atlas Copco in 2013.

BA Equipment Managing Director

Campbell Nunn explains;

The switch to Atlas Copco reflects the

technical advantages of the Atlas Copco

ranges, as well as the incredible scope

of supply and support delivered by Atlas

Transmin are a leading manufacturer of rock breakers

and hydraulic boom systems used in mining operations the

world over. The hydraulic boom/breaker combination is

used to break down oversize rocks as they pass through

the materials handling process.

In 2008 Transmin manufactured what was then the

largest rock-breaker / hydraulic boom system in the south-

ern hemisphere for Rio Tinto’s Mount Tom Price Mine in

northern Western Australia. Nick-named ‘Big Bertha’, the

machine has a 10 m boom and 7 m jib.

Glenn Illingworth, Business Line Manager Construction

Tools for Australia & New Zealand adds:

We are both pleased and proud to have Transmin

through our dealer BA Equipment as their preferred

supplier for all their Atlas Copco mounted hydraulic

breakers fitted to their hydraulic boom systems.

Genie S-Trax Boom Lifts Take Heavy Ground Lightly

Following the delivery of two self-propelled telescopic

Genie S-65 TraX boom lifts in 2014, distributor HDW re-

cently provided Van den Brink Platform and Crane Hire

with four more track-mounted boom lift models.

As the company’s Managing Director, Gert Van den

Brink, explains:

“In the Netherlands the ground is generally soft

whatever the season. Thanks to their low ground

pressure and excellent terrain capability, Genie

S-TraX machines avoid the damage caused by tyre-

mounted machines on damp, soft or hard surfaces,

including fragile paving stones. As a result they are

under high demand for outdoor applications in our

region all year round.”
