What’s New In Plant & Equipment

2015 Cobra delivers

more efficient

Atlas Copco introduces it’s 2015 range of Cobra PROe and

TTe petrol breakers. The percussion mechanism delivers

engine power with minimum losses to the tool tip, result-

ing in impact energy of 60 Joules (PRO version), respec-

tively 40 Joules (TT version).

Both versions are now available with 25 x 108 mm

shank sizes. This new shank size makes the Cobras shorter

and lighter, and vibrations are minimised even further.

“Customers can perform better when they use

a machine that fits their needs – especially in

situations where every centimetre counts. Using

the right size for every operation helps the operator

get more done in less time”

says the product line manager Oleg Korobotchkine.

The redesigned models have up to 10% less vibrations

than earlier models. With the improved Atlas Copco hand-

arm protection system (HAPS), operators can work longer

and stay well within limits of recommended health and

safety standards

The petrol version can use alkylate petrol, thereby ex-

posing the operator to less armful exhausts.

C Series Portable

Counting Scales

Counting parts that are tiny and lightweight can be a time-

consuming ordeal that is susceptible to human error.

Cardinal Scale’s new C series digital counting scales are ide-

al for inventory counting when mobility and high accuracy

is a must at outdoor applications, mobile workstations, or

rental fleets.

The new C series portable counting scales are available

in 6 lb/3 kg, 30 lb/15 kg, and 65 lb/30 kg capacities and

feature a built-in rechargeable battery pack (standard), up

to 99 stored product look ups (9 direct PLU quick keys),

sturdy stainless steel platform, piece counts with known

and unknown weight samples, backlit bright blue LCD, pre-

set weight and quantity limits with audible beep alerts, and

weight accumulator mode.

These durable counting scales offer a full keypad to

enter and recall known piece weights and tare weights,

metric conversion, 1/300,000 counting resolution, bubble

level, and non-skid feet for stability.

The rugged design of the C series allows for reliable

weighing in almost any environment, and withstands fre-

quent movement from one area of a factory to another.

It is possible to quickly count multiple inventory parts

and 15,000 weight divisions makes them capable of count-

ing the smallest of parts.

New Portable Air-

Cooled Generator

Atlas Copco has launched a new QEP range of portable air-

cooled generators for the construction industry. The three

models – QEP, QEP-R and QEP-S – are designed and built

to deliver long-term reliability under the toughest working

Each of the three models is available in both diesel and

petrol versions. With power ratings of 3-12 kVA (petrol en-

gines) and 4-9 kVA (diesel engines), it is easy for construc-

tion professionals to select the QEP unit that meets the re-

quirements of their specific worksite.

Daniel Escuer, Product Marketing Manager Atlas Copco

Portable Energy says:

“The quality components and sturdy construction

makes the QEP your predictable power partner on

any worksite.
