A First for BSP International
BSP International Foundations, a leading manufacturer of
hydraulic piling hammers and related equipment, has an-
nounced a new Hydro Pack (HP) 260 model powered by a
Caterpillar C9.3 ACERT engine.
This new generation Hydro Pack is de-
signed to comply with the US EPA Tier 4
Final and EC Stage IV emission requirements.
The engine delivers power ratings from 224 kW up to
298 kW at between 1800 rpm and 2200 rpm.
The engine is equipped with a fully integrated clean
emission module, which includes a diesel oxidation cata-
lyst, diesel particulate filter and selective catalytic reduc-
tion which is designed to reduce nitrous oxide emission.
Other features of the New Hydro Pack range include a
redesigned, fully bunded, welded steel skid frame; locka-
ble access doors, tank mounted hydraulic filter with sensor
for service indication.
The hydraulic oil temperature is controlled by an inde-
pendent air blast cooler.
Ray Ransome, BSP’s senior sales manager, says:
“Air pollution is very much to the
fore of people’s minds today and
we all need do something to help
“BSP is committed to address-
ing environmental issues, so to
meet the future demand of contrac-
tors working in our cities, and local
council legislation, we are delighted
to offer our customers this new in-
dustrial engine in our Hydro Pack
power unit range.
“Installing this Tier 4 Final,
Stage IV engine continues our tra-
dition of providing quality prod-
ucts with built-in durability, reliabil-
ity, low cost of ownership and fuel
The BSP range of Hydro Packs has
been developed with the benefit of many
years’ experience in manufacturing hydraulic piling ham-
mers and customer comments.
As a result, the diesel powered, open circuit hydraulic
system range uses electronically controlled variable axial
piston pumps to optimise the performance of the compa-
ny’s extensive range of hammers.
For countries not requiring Tier 4 Final, Stage IV engines
BSP still has Tier 3, Stage IIIA Engines available.
