NewExcavators

fromHitachi at Bauma?

Because Bauma is so important, especially to the European, African and Middle East markets, many companies hold

back new product introductions in these areas until the main event in April.

Late last year Hitachi Construction Machinery unveiled their latest excavators to the American market. The fact

that these have yet to make an appearance in Europe would indicate that they will be at Bauma 2016. These new

excavators, because they are Tier 4 Final compliant, offer the latest engine technology and do not require a diesel

particulate filter

New Hitachi ZX670LC-6 and

ZX870LC-6 excavators

Hitachi Construction Machinery – Americas has intro-

duced the newest additions to its Dash-6 line-up.

“We took solid, productive workhorses in the

Dash-5 versions of these machines and made

them even more efficient, reliable and durable

with key upgrades.”

“The ZX670LC-6 and ZX870LC-6 deliver the

quiet, powerful performance that Hitachi is

known for with the added bonus of cleaner

operations.”

said Mark Wall, product marketing manager for Hitachi

Construction Machinery – Americas.

New engine technology

The two upgraded excavators feature a new, fuel-effi-

cient FT4 Isuzu engine that is simple and efficient. The

ZX670LC-6 offers 463 hp while the ZX870LC-6 boasts

512 hp.

The FT4 engine is field-proven technology employs

cooled exhaust gas recirculation (EGR), a diesel oxidation

catalyst (DOC) and selective catalytic reduction (SCR).

An improved piston design allows particulate matter to

be burned in cylinder, so there’s no need for a diesel

particulate filter (DPF).

This should meant that fuel and DEF consumption is

equal or reduced compared to the previous models

Features of these models include:

• Generous swing torque, digging force and lift

capacity

• Spacious cabs designed for operator comfort and

productivity

• Standard upper-structure handrails for added safety

and accessibility

• Easy-to-operate controls for smooth and responsive

hydraulics

• Highly efficient cooling systems

Both excavators come standard equipped with five
