Launch of Malaysia’s Tallest Tower Malaysia

Launch of Malaysia’s Tallest Tower

Turner International celebrates the public project launch of a 118-story Kuala Lumpur landmark and the heart of the mixed-use Warisan Merdeka development.

Senior leaders from developer Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB) recently gathered alongside Turner and other project stakeholders as Malaysia’s Prime Minister officially launched the project and gave the tower a new name: Merdeka PNB118.

Scheduled for completion in 2020, the tower will house PNB’s group of companies over 60 floors, with 23 floors of rentable commercial space and an 18-story luxury hotel with 236 rooms, as well as multiple sky lobbies and observation decks.

The Merdeka PNB118 tower project builds on our experience managing landmark projects in Southeast Asia, as well as our experience delivering technically sophisticated, mega-tall structures in growing cities around the world,

said Peter Ramstedt, Turner’s project director.

Additionally, the Warisan Merdeka development is located outside the front door of the historic Stadium Merdeka, which was specifically built for Malaysia’s Declaration of Independence in 1957, and is also bordered by Stadium Negara and Chin Woo Stadium. We are honoured by the trust placed in us as stewards of these historical landmarks.

Designed by the internationally acclaimed, Melbourne, Australia-based firm Fender Katsalidis Architects, Merdeka PNB118 is a 118-story tower within a 19-acre, multi-phase development.
