John Deere Rolls Out the 710L

Backhoe Loader

(America only)

The John Deere 710L is the latest model

to join the L-Series lineup of backhoe

loaders. The latest model offers a ro-

bust 17-foot 3-inch (5.26 m) dig depth,

the largest in the John Deere portfolio,

making it ideal for loading trucks, plac-

ing pipe, digging trenches, breaking up

concrete or asphalt and moving

The 710L backhoe meets today’s

emission regulations through an EPA

Final Tier 4/EU Stage IV-certified 4.5L

Deere PowerTech Plus engine, providing

13 percent more net peak horsepower

(148 hp/110 kW) than the previous

K-Series model.

“Customers need an advantage to meet project

deadlines and deliver results, and the backhoe

is one of the most well-regarded and resourceful

pieces of equipment on the job site,”

said Brian Hennings, product marketing manager, back-

hoes and tractor loaders, John Deere Construction &

“The 710L provides a huge leg up with added

lift capability and an improved rear control valve

for enhanced controllability as well as

productivity-boosting features and unmatched

reliability and uptime.”

Other features of the 710L include a standard John

Deere PowerShift transmission that enables operators

to travel up to 23 mph (37 km/h) between job sites.

Utilizing the sealed-switch module (SSM), operators can

get an additional 10 percent craning boost through the

Lift Mode feature; when selected, engine rpm is auto-

matically set at 1,400, and the machine maximizes hy-

draulic pressure for increased craning capability.

Pressure-compensated load-sensing (PCLS) hydraulics

ensure smooth multifunction operation. Standard ride

control enables front loader hydraulic cylinders to act

as shock absorbers, smoothing travel over rough terrain,

helping full loads reach their destination and reducing

operator fatigue.

Inside the cab, operators will find all the features

common to the L Series models.

The 710L also boasts the benefits of reliability and

uptime. Same-side ground-level service points help

speed daily checks. Other common-sense features, such

as extended service intervals, simple-to-read sight gaug-

es and easy-access grease points, help increase uptime

and lower daily operating costs.

Fire Protective Coating System

Safeguards Structures

Sika has launched an innovative high performance fire

protection coating system designed for use on structural

Sika Unitherm Platinum is a one coat, factory applied

system that offers high mechanical strength and impact

resistance, helping to eliminate onsite application and

create a safer way to protect steel frame structures.

Solvent-free, it is easily applied with standard

airless spray equipment, requires no reinforcement,

cures rapidly to a very tough and damage resistant

finish, and is ready for handling the next day.

As a result of its tolerance to normal transpor-

tation methods without the requirement for pro-

tection against moisture, it can be shipped without

damage during the service life of the structure.
