Yanmar Acquires Spanish company, Himoinsa

The Japanese company Yanmar Co., Ltd. has aquired the leading Spanish manufacturer, Himoinsa. Active in over 100 countries, Himoinsa is a multi-national company manufacturing diesel generator sets from 3KVA to 3.000KVA, gas generator sets from 8KW to 3.5MW and a wide range of lighting towers with a lighting capacity of up to 1.320.000 lumens. Yanmar’s relationship with Himoinsa dates back to 2006, when it began supplying its diesel engines to be used in Himmoinsa generators.

The objective is to improve Yanmar’s presence in the rapidly-growing global energy system market. Building on a broad base of operations in diesel engines and industrial machinery, Yanmar now seeks to strengthen its position and increase its overseas sales ratio to over 60%.

An increase in demand for on-site power generators and co-generation systems is expected in both commercial and private sectors. With the wealth of expertise in product development and business operations that the two companies will bring, this alliance will focus on strengthening distribution channels and on delivering innovative solutions to our worldwide customers.

Himoinsa currently owns 9 production centers in Spain, China, India, France, Brazil, the United States and Argentina. Himmoinsa also has 10 subsidiaries in Singapore, UAE, Poland, Germany, the United Kingdom, Portugal, Angola, Mexico, Panama and Argentina and a network of more than 130 distributors around the world.
