JAPAN: Norwegian Crane Hire Association visits Maeda in Japan

During November 2010, the Norwegian Crane Hire Association travelled to Japan with AB Kranlyft to visit Maeda Mini Cranes. Their yearly autumn meeting was held in the conference room of Maeda Seisakusho in Nagano.

The trip started in Tokyo with a free day in order to overcome jetlag before a brief visit to the Kato Works factory in Ibaraki where they were joined by the President, Mr K. Kato.

In the afternoon the 50 travellers boarded their buses and continued the journey to Nagano where factory visits were planned for the following two days.

There was also time on the trip to learn more about the Japanese culture with activities such as a Japanese Tea Ceremony and visits to traditional Temples.

This was the first time in Maeda Seisakusho´s history that such a big group visited their plant. All models that are for export was on display including the new LC383. For several hours the cranes were tried and all Norwegian customers were very pleased with the cranes and saw the advantages with mini cranes.

The trip as such was planned already from December last year and transporting a group of 50 people including Kranlyft staff needed careful planning. It is the first time that the Norwegian Crane Hire association visit such a far located manufacturer. Normally they have stayed in Europe on their trips and Autumn Meeting.

During the stay a LC383 was ordered by Kranringen Nordås AS and a MC285CRM-E by Myklebust BKB AS.
