Trimble introduced today version 12.81 of its Trimble GCS900 Grade Control System. The new version further expands the mix of machines supported to now include wheel loaders. This demonstrates the company's commitment to meet the contractor’s needs for construction technology across a mixed fleet and for all phases of the project life cycle.

The Trimble GCS900 version 12.81 release includes a new 3D configuration for wheel loaders, broadening the range of machine types supported. Contractors can realize a higher and more rapid return on their investment in technology by using Trimble machine control components on a variety of machines and for more applications.

Alimak Group has received two orders for construction elevators in India to be delivered during the first and second quarter of 2016. The total order value is 21 MSEK $2.46 million).

The new orders of premium and mid market construction hoists will be delivered to construction customers in India.

Many of Alimak´s construction hoists are based on modular designs, which provide flexibility in both size and capacity for use in a variety of applications, including construction and refurbishment of high-rise buildings, bridges, chimneys and façades. The modular design also mean reduced time for erection of equipment and optimized cost for maintenance.

JLG customer ,Riwal, headquartered in the Netherlands submitted the winning bid for the 100,000th JLG telehandler during a charity auction event on Dec. 9 in Seville, Spain. At the request of Riwal, € 50.000- of the proceeds from the € 88,000- bid will go to the Alpe d’HuZes foundation. “At Riwal we are proud to be part of such a meaningful industry event,”

said Norty Turner, CEO of Riwal.

“We have been providing JLG telehandlers for our customers for many years, and to be the winning bidder on the 100.000th telehandler with all of the proceeds to the charities of our choice is truly inspiring.“

Atlas Copco, a leading provider of sustainable productivity solutions, has agreed to acquire Varisco, an Italian pump manufacturer with a global sales network.

Varisco is based in Padua near Venice, Italy, and had revenues in 2014 of €30 million. It employs about 135 people.

Founded in 1932, Varisco is known around the world for the design and manufacture of high-quality pumps used by a wide range of customers. The pumps are typically used to remove unwanted water or other liquids in the construction, mining, and oil and gas industries; they are also used in industrial process plants and for emergency services in case of floods.

Crane rental company, Bhoir Group, headquartered in Mumbai, India, has placed an order of six new LR 1300 SX and three units of derrick equipment.

The LR 1300 SX crawler crane is a 300 t class machine manufactured at Liebherr-Werk Nenzing, Austria. The crane has a strong main boom and hence has an excellent load chart especially with the main boom and luffing jib combinations. The crane can be fitted with a maximum of 92 m of main boom and a luffing jib of maximum 113 m with various boom combinations and can reach a maximum height of 169 m (56 m main boom and 113 m luffing jib), which is remarkable in its class. With derrick the combination of main boom and luffing jib reaches a staggering height of 196 m (83 m main boom plus 113 m luffing jib plus derrick).

The latest reports from the USA Association of Equipment Manufacturer (AEM) shows that construction equipment exports from the US continue to decline. Is this a reason for concern or just a temporary blip? Will it be a devoloping trend sending the industry into another slump?
