Doosan Sells Montabert to Joy Global

Doosan Infracore Co Ltd has sold 100% of the shares of Montabert S.A.S. (France) to Joy Global Inc., a leading supplier of advanced equipment, systems and services for the global mining industry. Joy Global is listed on the New York stock exchange and employs 14,000 employees in 20 countries. The sum involved was approximately $123 million.

Montabert’s products and equipment fit Joy Global’s core business of designing, manufacturing, distributing and servicing high productivity mining equipment. This evolution will provide Montabert and its employees with the opportunity to work for a global mining equipment business that is active in all major mining regions in the world.

Doosan Construction Equipment Appoints New Corporate and Public Communication Manager

Doosan Construction Equipment (DCE) has appointed Nancy De Sy as the company’s new Corporate and Public Communication Manager for the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region, based at Waterloo in Belgium. Nancy will be responsible for corporate publications and international PR in EMEA, working closely with a network of PR agencies covering the region. She has taken over the reins from George Schmalzried, who is retiring at the end of the year, after 25 years of service in the company.

Wide Company and Industry Experience

Nancy De Sy began her career at Doosan more than 23 years ago when she joined Bobcat and has worked in a number of increasingly senior positions since she started as a product department assistant in 1989. In 2005, Nancy took on the responsibility for organising the company’s participation in all exhibitions and events in EMEA. She offers a great knowledge and experience of both the company and the industry and has worked closely with George Schmalzried on many projects over the years, which has provided an excellent grounding for her new role as Corporate and Public Communication Manager.

MR Air Force Takes Delivery of Order for Over 40 New Doosan Large Compressors

MR Air Force, part of Machinery Resale bvba, based at Deinze in Belgium, has taken delivery of over 40 new large portable air compressors from Doosan Infracore Portable Power.

MR Air Force is not a rental company, but is using the compressors to form part of a new service that helps business partners such as rental companies, dealers and agents to set up and run specialised, long term rental programmes for large portable compressors.

At the handover of the new Doosan compressors, Nick Verbeek, Director of Doosan Portable Power Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), was joined by Filip Maes and Henk Uphoff, Owner and Managing Director, respectively, of MR Air Force and Machinery Resale. Nick Verbeek said: “We are delighted to win this order from MR Air Force, which forms part of an innovative new approach to the international compressor market.”

Germany/Austria: Theisen expands rental fleet in Germany and Austria with thirty-two Doosan Excavators

Theisen Baumaschinen Mietpark GmbH & Co KG, one of the largest construction machinery rental companies in Germany, has purchased 32 new wheeled and crawler excavators from Doosan. Theisen continuously invests in the purchase of new machines to keep the average age of its fleet at a potentially record-breaking 2.5 years. As well as reducing the average age, the 32 new Doosan excavators provide a further expansion of the company’s rental fleet available for hire from regional Theisen centres throughout Germany and also in Vienna in Austria.

The new additions to the Theisen fleet include six 15 tonne DX140LCR reduced radius excavators, each offering 71 kW of engine power and a swing radius of 3.36 m; four 23.7 tonne DX235LCR reduced radius excavators with 124 kW engines and a digging depth of 6.67 m; ten 17.7 tonne DX180LC crawler excavators powered by the 88 kW DL06 Doosan engine and providing a digging depth of 5.7-6.6 m; and twelve 14.3 tonne DX140W wheeled excavators providing a 27% increase in productivity over the previous model in the Doosan range.

Poland: Doosan wins largest articulated dump truck order

Doosan Infracore Construction Equipment has won the company’s largest order for articulated dump trucks (ADTs) in Poland.

The order, for six MT31 ADTs, forms part of a new fleet of Doosan machines delivered to Hydrobudowa s.a, a leading Polish contractor specialising in complex civil and hydro engineering, infrastructure and specialist construction projects. The order also includes two Doosan DX300LC crawler excavators and two Doosan DX340LC crawler excavators. The machines have been supplied by Doosan dealer, Grausch i Grausch maszyny Budowlane Sp. z o. o.

Five of the new Doosan ADTs are currently working on the construction of the Bojanowo – Rawicz section of the new high-speed S5 Expressway, whilst the sixth machine is working on the construction of a new Sports Arena in Toruń.

SOUTH KOREA: New plant opened by Doosan Infracore

Doosan Infracore has officially opened a new plant at Gunsan in Jeonbuk province, South Korea, for production of the largest models in the company’s excavator and wheel loader ranges.

The new plant, which increases the company’s global production capacity by nearly 10%, is responsible for manufacturing the six largest excavator models and the four largest wheel loader models.
