Hitachi Construction Machinery (Europe) NV has appointed a new dealer for customers in Slovakia. EURO stroj Slovakia is based in Bratislava and offers the complete range of Hitachi construction equipment. This includes mini, medium and large Zaxis excavators, rigid dump trucks and ZW wheel loaders. It also distributes special application machines, light compaction equipment and Hitachi Sumitomo crawler cranes.
The company was founded by Peter Majoroš in May 2010 as Austro BMH s.r.o. It was renamed EURO stroj Slovakia in March this year, shortly after it became the official Hitachi dealer for the country.
For the second year running, Janne Ensio Leppånen from Finland was Overall Winner at the 2015 Case Rodeo International Final, the annual competition for the best construction equipment operators.
The event was held from October 16th to 18th at the Case Customer Centre in Monthyon, near Paris. Leppånen emerged victorious over 43 highly skilled operators representing 18 countries, including Germany, Italy, France, Austria, Poland, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Romania, Slovenia, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Baltic countries, the Netherlands, Finland and UK which took the ‘Winning Team’ award based on the excellent results of its drivers. All the finalists who took part were the winners of the national Rodeo competitions.

2014 was a troubled, yet good, year for the European construction equipment industry. Sales on the European market grew by 9% compared to 2013. Exports showed a slight momentum of growth. Behind only North America, the European construction equipment market has been the second most dynamic region in 2014.
Excavation support specialists Groundforce is stepping up its presence in Europe with the appointment of Peter Richardson to head up the major projects team for Europe.
Peter Richardson, who has represented Groundforce since 2008 advising on marketing and acquisition of major shoring projects in Scandinavia, Germany, Switzerland and France, has been appointed as director of major projects, Europe.
His new role will include the continued acquisition of major project work across the EU, together with forming a dedicated major projects team for the continent complementing and leveraging the existing UK business
Topcon Europe Positioning (TEP) announces John Foster as European Business Development Manager for BIM (Building Information Modelling).
Foster comes to TEP from Finnish Autodesk partner and BIM software provider, Profox Companies, where he was the director responsible for business development and sales of Autodesk based BIM software solutions.
Prior to this role, he served as sales manager at NavisWorks Ltd, and plant solutions sales manager at Autodesk Ltd. Foster has more than 20 years experience in CAD and data management, ranging from software development through consulting to business development and sales.
“John has a great deal of experience developing and managing global partner channels and will use this to support existing Topcon distribution and build a BIM focused distribution channel for the Topcon range of BIM products and services across our region,” said Ian Stilgoe, director of geomatics for Topcon, “he has previously delivered BIM and software solutions to global building and construction, infrastructure and process plant organisations and will continue to connect with key Topcon accounts.”

JCB Germany today announced the biggest single investment ever in its business as the company prepares to celebrate 50 years of trading in the important market.
The company is to build a brand new €25 million headquarters for JCB Germany on a site which is double the size of its existing facility in Cologne. Work on the new premises will begin later this year and the new HQ will open in 2015 – just as JCB Germany marks the 50th anniversary of its foundation in 1965.
