KOMATSU strengthens presence in Germany

Komatsu Mining Germany GmbH based in Düsseldorf and the Komatsu Hanomag GmbH based in Hanover are to merge, keeping both locations, to form Komatsu Germany GmbH.
Düsseldorf/Hanover, September 2016 – Komatsu is one of the leading construction equipment manufacturers globally with its head office in Tokyo, Japan and employs around 47,000 employees in 140 companies worldwide. In Germany, the company is active in both the construction equipment sector and in the mining business.

Komatsu Hanomag was founded in 1835 as the “Hannoversche Maschinenbau Actiengesellschaft” (Hanover Machine Construction Corporation) (HANOMAG) and has been a wholly-owned subsidiary of the global corporation Komatsu Ltd since 2002. At the Hanover site, wheel loaders and mobile excavators are developed and produced. The workforce in Hanover consists of around 600 employees.

Telstra digs up a $23 million contract with Komatsu

Telstra has announced that it will continue to partner with leading mining and construction equipment manufacturer, Komatsu. The agreement will see Telstra facilitate the future of Komatsu’s ICT and Machine to Machine (M2M) strategy in a whole of business deal worth $23 million over the next three years.

Building on a 15 year relationship, Telstra will provide the core telecommunications (voice, data and mobile) and strategic ICT services (M2M and agile cloud technologies) that helps Komatsu remain at the forefront of innovation.

Komatsu Australia unveils new rental business

Komatsu Australia has unveiled its new equipment rental business, offering a fleet of more than 200 Komatsu construction and utility machines throughout Australia’s eastern seaboard plus New Zealand.

According to Geoff Pisani, Komatsu Rental’s National Rental Manager, the business is now well established in these market regions, having shown strong growth since its initial start in mid-2013 with a relatively small fleet.

AUSTRALIA: Komatsu and GE Transportation sign agreement to establish joint venture

Komatsu and GE Mining, a division of GE Transportation, have announced a new collaboration to develop next generation mining equipment.

By combining their expertise in mining equipment and propulsion systems, the companies will help meet the needs of customers and partners worldwide, with an initial focus on developing solutions to increase customer productivity and safety for underground mines.

The new company, Komatsu GE Mining Systems, LLC, will be located at the GE Transportation facility in Erie, PA, USA and operations will begin in April 2014. Komatsu and GE will each own 50% of the new company.

Komatsu America Corp. Launches New HM400-3 Articulated Truck

Komatsu America Corp. introduces the HM400-3 articulated truck. With a net horsepower of 469 hp (350 kW), the HM400-3 is powered by a Komatsu SAA6D140E-6 engine and is EPA Tier 4 Interim and EU Stage 3B emissions certified. Komatsu leveraged its leadership in technology and innovation—building on its proven Tier 3 engine platform—to design an environmentally friendly engine that increases power while decreasing fuel consumption.

Komatsu reports nets sales up 28.7%

Komatsu Ltd. has announced its business results for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2011.

During the fiscal year under review, Komatsu recorded consolidated net sales of JPY1,843.1 billion (USD22,206 million, at USD1=JPY83), up 28.7% from the previous fiscal year. While the Japanese currency appreciated sharply against key currencies, the company did incur a loss resulting from the damages by the Great East Japan Earthquake and the subsequent tsunami.
