Hitachi Construction Machinery announces new dealer in Slovakia

Hitachi Construction Machinery (Europe) NV has appointed a new dealer for customers in Slovakia. EURO stroj Slovakia is based in Bratislava and offers the complete range of Hitachi construction equipment. This includes mini, medium and large Zaxis excavators, rigid dump trucks and ZW wheel loaders. It also distributes special application machines, light compaction equipment and Hitachi Sumitomo crawler cranes.

The company was founded by Peter Majoroš in May 2010 as Austro BMH s.r.o. It was renamed EURO stroj Slovakia in March this year, shortly after it became the official Hitachi dealer for the country.

New Hitachi Construction Machinery dealer for Romania

Hitachi Construction Machinery (Europe) NV has appointed a new dealer for its customers in Romania. Utirom Invest SRL is located on the outskirts of Bucharest with a 4,000 m² workshop, warehouse and office space. The company will distribute a wide range of Hitachi equipment, including Zaxis-5 excavators (mini, medium and large), ZW-5 wheel loaders, rigid dump trucks and Hitachi-Sumitomo cranes.

Led by General Manager Claudiu Barbulescu, the company currently has 11 employees and plans to expand its personnel later in the year. Its strategy for the Romanian market is focused on providing a first-class after-sales service.

Kobelco Construction Machinery to Build Facility in North America

Kobelco Construction Machinery Co., Ltd. has decided to construct a hydraulic excavator production factory in South Carolina, United States. The new factory will be incorporated into its North American subsidiary, Kobelco Construction Machinery U.S.A. Inc. (“KCMU”) which already operates in North America. With this factory construction, KCMU will be reorganized into a company with integrated production and sales.

After concluding an official purchase agreement for the planned construction site, we will begin site preparation from April this year, construct a building, install machines and equipment, and complete the construction in December, then commence mass production of 20t model from January, 2016.

Netherlands: Hitachi Construction Machinery opens new European Parts Depot

An official opening ceremony has taken place for the new Hitachi Construction Machinery (Europe) NV (HCME) European Parts Depot. The celebration was held at the Oosterhout facility in the south of The Netherlands and the guest of honour was Hitachi Construction Machinery Co., Ltd. (HCM) President Michijiro Kikawa.

Mr Kikawa gave a speech to the other distinguished guests who attended the ceremony, among them Mitsuhiro Tabei, President of HCME. He then presented representatives from the Parts Depot with a special Japanese maple tree, which was planted in front of the building.

In his address, Mr Kikawa emphasised the importance of the new facility, saying: “It is a great honour to officially open this new Parts Depot, and to have the opportunity to join my colleagues from HCME at such an important event in our history.

“The aim of the company investing in this larger, improved facility is to provide the best possible service to our dealers and customers. Parts availability has further increased due to the new facility’s greater capacity and efficiency. This will help Hitachi to boost parts sales and meet the demands of our expanding customer base.”

Thailand: Caterpillar to open facility to produce underground mining machinery

Caterpillar has announced that it plans to open a new manufacturing facility in Thailand.

The company will break ground on the new factory in early 2011, with production scheduled to begin in late 2012. The facility will produce a full range of underground mining articulated trucks and loaders, which are used by Caterpillar customers around the world in hard-rock underground mining applications.
