Alimak Group divests the US Rental operation to Bigge Crane and Rigging

Alimak Group, the global vertical access solution company, announces that it has entered into an agreement to divest its US Rental business with base in Atlanta, US, to Bigge Crane and Rigging

Alimak Group operates a small rental business in the US, whose origins predate the merger between Alimak and Hek in 1999. The US Rental business has been operated as a separate unit within the Alimak US operation. The divestment will allow a stronger focus on product sales as well as after sales services supporting Alimak´s entire product portfolio in the US and Canada.

LOXAM completes acquisition of France and Spain businesses of Hertz Equipment Rental Corporation

The LOXAM Group ( LOXAM) has announced that it has completed the acquisition of the France and Spain businesses of Hertz Equipment Rental Corporation (HERC) from Hertz Global Holdings (NYSE: HTZ) through the transfer of the entire share capital of Hertz Equipement France SAS and Hertz Alquiler de Maquinaria, SLU. The transaction includes 60 locations in France and two in Spain.

HERC is a leading North American equipment rental company with operations in the Middle East and China along with a presence in eight other countries through franchise partnerships. The business remains on course with plans to separate from Hertz Global Holdings and become an independent company by mid-2016.

Komatsu Australia unveils new rental business

Komatsu Australia has unveiled its new equipment rental business, offering a fleet of more than 200 Komatsu construction and utility machines throughout Australia’s eastern seaboard plus New Zealand.

According to Geoff Pisani, Komatsu Rental’s National Rental Manager, the business is now well established in these market regions, having shown strong growth since its initial start in mid-2013 with a relatively small fleet.

Acme Lift appoint Jay Franzak regional manager, Atlantic Coast

Jay Franzak, who has worked in the equipment rental industry for almost 30 years in sales and management positions, has been appointed eastern United States regional manager for Acme Lift Co., the world’s largest wholesale rental company.

“We welcome Jay and believe his exceptional record of customer service and rental acumen will help Acme Lift better serve our Atlantic Coast customers with local and personal attention,” said Woody Weld, Acme Lift chief executive officer. “Jay believes in mutually beneficial relationships and has the ability and authority to quickly solve our customers’ re-rental challenges in the eastern United States and Canada.”
