LOXAM completes acquisition of France and Spain businesses of Hertz Equipment Rental Corporation

The LOXAM Group ( LOXAM) has announced that it has completed the acquisition of the France and Spain businesses of Hertz Equipment Rental Corporation (HERC) from Hertz Global Holdings (NYSE: HTZ) through the transfer of the entire share capital of Hertz Equipement France SAS and Hertz Alquiler de Maquinaria, SLU. The transaction includes 60 locations in France and two in Spain.

HERC is a leading North American equipment rental company with operations in the Middle East and China along with a presence in eight other countries through franchise partnerships. The business remains on course with plans to separate from Hertz Global Holdings and become an independent company by mid-2016.

Yanmar Acquires Spanish company, Himoinsa

The Japanese company Yanmar has aquired the leading Spanish manufacturer, Himmoinsa. Active in over 100 countries, Himmoinsa is a multi-national company manufacturing diesel generator sets from 3KVA to 3.000KVA, gas generator sets from 8KW to 3.5MW and a wide range of lighting towers with a lighting capacity of up to 1.320.000 lumens. Yanmar’s relationship with Himmoinsa dates back to 2006, when it began supplying its diesel engines to be used in Himmoinsa generators.

MTG announces investment plans for the expansion of its plant in Monzón, Spain

MTG, the Spanish manufacturer of wear parts is to make an investment of 13.500.000 euros to enlarge its plant in Monzón, Huesca, creating approximately 80 new jobs in the next 2 years.
The foundry, one of the most modern in Europe, is equipped with state-of-art technology for the production of wear parts for mining and construction earth moving machinery with a current yearly production of 5.000 tonnes.

The investment will be distributed between 2014 and 2016 and will go to new infrastructures and machinery to increase the production capacity up to 14.000 yearly tonnes.

During this expansion phase, the company foresees the creation of 80 new jobs in Monzón, to be added to the current crew of 86 workers.

SPAIN: AUSA closes the first half of the year with very positive results

The Spanish company, AUSA, closes the first half of 2011 showing growth across all its business indicators. Exports are the main driving force behind this growth and account for 72.8% of total sales. Turnover is also up, as are orders for all product lines, in particular the Taurulift range, which recorded an increase in sales of 71%.

The first half of the year showed clear signs of its business strength and the added value it provides to its clients. The company has sidestepped the crisis through innovative and extremely effective strategies, focused on products and sales management, and a firm commitment to internationalisation. As a result of these sound strategies, the company has increased exports by 82% in the last 5 years. It has also maintained its leading position in the international market for sales of all-terrain forklifts while moving closer to market leadership in specific segments of other product sectors.

SPAIN: AGS crane anti-collision systems now through AGS BTP Iberica subsidiary

One of the leading French specialists in safety devices for tower cranes, AGS, continues its international development by creating AGS BTP IBERICA.

Present for many years in Spain through a distributor, the company has installed its anti-collision systems on major projects in Spain such as Archidona prison, the VIAS Site with 18 JASO cranes equipped with anti-collision systems; the headquarters of the Banque Populaire in Madrid, a VIAS and BOVIS proejct with 5 JASO cranes and many others.

Managed by J. Eugenio RETUERTO, former manager of TEKNIKRAN, this subsidiary based in Irun is operational from April 2011. In Spain, AGS is also distributed by REYM 2000 for the Mediterranean area.
