Atlas Copco acquires Chinese compressor business

Atlas Copco (China) Investment Co. Ltd has acquired certain assets of Guangzhou Linghein Compressor Co., Ltd. The acquisition supports Atlas Copco’s profitable expansion in China, adding a brand of industrial air compressors with a strong regional presence.

Linghein, founded in 2001, is located in the city of Guangzhou in South-East China. The company primarily designs and produces small and medium-sized oil-injected rotary screw compressors. It has over the years established a solid organization with sales and service representation in various regions over China and a strong distributor network.

Atlas Copco acquires Spanish generator manufacturer Gesan

Atlas Copco SAE has acquired Grupo Electrógenos GESAN S.A. of Spain, a manufacturer of diesel and petrol generators sold through a global distributor network. The deal strengthens Atlas Copco’s product portfolio, especially for customers in emerging markets.

Gesan, which was privately owned, had revenues in 2010 of €56 million. The company employs about 160 people and is based in Zaragoza, Spain, where it has a production and assembly facility. Its generators are used for primary power supply and for standby purposes, ranging in sizes up to nearly twice as high as Atlas Copco’s current offering. The distributor network reaches more than 85 countries, with Europe, Africa and Russia as the most important markets.

Sweden: Manitowoc extends UN Mobilkraner dealership

Manitowoc’s history with UN Mobilkraner in Denmark led the company to extend the sales and service region to include Sweden. UN Mobilkraner previously traded as UN Maskinservice.

UN Mobilkraner provides mobile crane support and sales across Scandinavia. By expanding operations to include Sweden, UN Mobilkraner improves its levels of sales and service support and is offering more for Manitowoc’s customers in the country.Xavier Bedini, area sales manager for Manitowoc in Scandinavia and the Baltics, said Manitowoc has been very pleased with UN Mobilkraner since it expanded into sales last year.

“We know the people at UN Mobilkraner very well and have worked with them through Manitowoc Crane Care since 1994,” he said. “When expanding our operations in Sweden, we knew to go with UN Mobilkraner. Feedback from customers in Sweden is already very positive and we expect the company to repeat the success it has achieved in Denmark.”

Sweden: Atlas Copco is considering relocating manufacturing of light compaction equipment

Today Atlas Copco initiated negotiations with unions regarding a plan to relocate production of light compaction equipment from Ljungby, Sweden, to Rousse, Bulgaria, affecting 69 employees in Sweden.

“Atlas Copco continuously reviews the manufacturing set-up to assure the Group’s competitiveness. The considered plan is in line with our ambition to constantly improve the operational efficiency and make sure our production is cost competitive,” says Björn Rosengren, Business Area President, Construction and Mining Technique.

SWEDEN: Powerscreen appoint Anboni as dealer

Powerscreen, the Northern Ireland based manufacturer of mobile crushing, screening and washing equipment, has appointed Anbioni as the new dealer in Sweden.

Anboni is a Swedish company established in 2003 by Anders Nilsson. It has seen six consistent years of growth in sales and market share in the concrete batching plants line they provide. Anders Nilsson also brings a wealth of crushing and screening experience to the business making the addition of Powerscreen products a natural fit.

SWEDEN: Dynapac order for China

Atlas Copco has received an order for Dynapac-branded rollers and pavers from Xuzhou Gongli Road and Bridge Construction Machinery Co. Ltd, valued at approximately US$24 million. The order was signed at a formal ceremony during the Bauma exhibition in Shanghai, China.
